FAQ

Q: Which versions of Illustrator does this work with?
A: Works with Adobe Illustrator CC 2019 and newer (Mac & Windows).

Q: Does it support gradients, strokes, or effects?
A: The script detects solid fill colors only. Gradients and effects are ignored for accuracy.

Q: Will it overwrite my existing swatches?
A: No — the script creates a new “Color Palette” layer with labeled blocks. Your swatches remain untouched.

Installation

Place the script (.jsx file) in Illustrator’s Scripts folder → restart Illustrator → run via File > Scripts.

Troubleshooting

• “No colors found” message → Make sure you’ve selected shapes with solid fills (not gradients, strokes, or images).
• Fonts missing (Inter Regular) → The script defaults to Inter; if not installed, it will automatically fall back to Arial.
• Script doesn’t run → Double-check you’re using Adobe Illustrator CC 2019 or newer. Place the .jsx file in your Illustrator Scripts folder, then restart Illustrator.
• Colors look slightly different → Illustrator converts all fills to RGB/CMYK values for consistency.
